Researchers’ Night is coming again in the fall of 2026!

Researchers’ Night brings the latest developments in science and research to life for the whole family.

The Europe-wide Researchers’ Night event will once again light up the Finnish autumn at the turn of September and October. This year, this celebration of knowledge and discovery will take over seven cities: Jyväskylä, Helsinki, Oulu, Kuopio, Joensuu, Tampere (September 25, 2026), and Hämeenlinna (October 2, 2026). An exciting program and eye-opening experiences await everyone interested in science. Admission to the event is free.

In Jyväskylä, Researchers’ Night will be held concurrently with the City of Light event. Researchers’ Night is organized in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä and the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. On the campuses in Jyväskylä, you can, for example, get a glimpse into the secrets of meme research, test the impact of car entertainment systems on your attention span with a virtual drive, and examine rare books dating back to the early days of printing, over 500 years old.

The daytime program is aimed primarily at school groups, but experiences and insights await curious minds of all ages from morning until late evening. More detailed location-specific program pages will be updated on the website closer to the event.

Come take a peek behind the doors of laboratories and science this fall!
