The European Researchers´ Night in Finland takes part on Finland’s centenary celebration year

14.3.2017

The Finnish European Researchers´ Night is part of Finland’s centenary celebration year. Researchers´ Night 2017 has two themes. First one is the Change, which was the theme of the event also in 2016. Another one is Finland. These themes come together when it is the time to think about the changes that science and research has brought to Finland during its independency. Along with earlier changes, the European Researchers´ Night looks to the future. How are the new discoveries of the researchers going to change our home country?

The centenary of Finland’s independence in 2017 will be the most significant commemorative year for this generation of Finns. The centenary emphasises Finland’s strengths, such as equality and democracy by offering Finns and friends of Finland diverse and international centenary programme in Finland and abroad. The centenary year provides opportunities to better understand the past, experience the jubilee together and set the course for Finland’s future success. The European Researchers' Night in Finland is happy to be a part of this celebration!
